Kickball Tourney

Grab the sunblock and your best teammates because the BOSS “Spring Fling” Kickball Tournament is just around the corner! Each team must consist of 11 people. Make sure you know your team captain, team name, team colors, and team members before registration ends today. The games begin on March 15. For more details, please call 706-791-5902.

St. Patty’s 5K

Over the river and through the woods we go to the Fort Gordon Saint Patrick’s 5K on Saturday! This 5K is a timed fun run that will orientate through the Fort Gordon Disc Golf Course and is considered a trail run. Participants will start on 39th Street (near the Dog Park). Finisher medals will be presented at the completion of the event. You can register the morning of at 7 a.m. For more information, please call 706-791-1142.

Masters Golf Badge Lottery

We are so excited for the 2019 Masters Golf Badge Lottery! Registration for the annual Masters Golf Badge Lottery is now through March 22. Those interested can sign up between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Drawing results will be held March 25th. For more information, please call 706-791-8664. Superhero Bash

The Mother and Son Superhero Bash is back again May 4! Join us for a night centered on the bond between a mother and her son(s). Ticket can be purchased at the Recreation Division Office (cash and card) and Woodworth Library (cash only). Don’t miss out, these tickets will sell fast! The American Federation of Government Employees Local 2017 monthly meeting will be held Tuesday at 5 p.m. in Bldg 29610, 405 Barnes Avenue. If you have any questions, call the Union Office 706-791-6488/87.

Nutrition Class

The Fort Gordon Nutrition Clinic will be presenting a class on March 15 to educate service members and families on topics of nutrition and proper dieting to be fit to perform in the workplace and everyday life. The class starts at 11am and goes till 2pm. Call 706-791-2369 for more details.

American Legion

American Legion Riders are hosting the Annual Spring Thaw Ride on March 16 beginning at American Legion Post 71 in North Augusta. Registration will be 8 to 9:30 a.m. with an approximately 100-mile ride at 10 a.m. Cost is $15 per bike and $5 per passenger. All proceeds will go to the American Legion Legacy Fund.

3-D Archery

Grab your gear, because the 3-D Archery Tournament Series will be held March 16. This Multi-Class Archery Tournament will be broken into individual tournaments and first-, second and third-place trophies will be awarded in 12 classes. Registration takes place the day of the event at TASC from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Cost is $15 per person and $7.50 for FGSC members. This event is open to the public for ages 5 and up. Movie Night

Come out to the Tactical Advantage Sportsman’s Complex (TASC) on March 22 at sundown for a Movie Under the Stars! This event is free to attend and will be located on the lawn in front of TASC. In case of rain, we’ll relocate inside. There will be light concessions available for purchase. The fun begins at sundown, so bring your lawn chairs or blankets and don’t forget bug spray! Parents’ Night Out

Let us watch the kids while you have a night out on the town! Child & Youth Services will be offering Parents’ Night Out, from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. Make sure your children 6 weeks to 17 years are registered with CYS to participate. Parents’ Night Out for this month will be held on March 23 at CDC West (Bldg. 18407, 19th Street. Don’t let your kid(s) miss out on the food, arts/crafts, games, and fun activities that happen at Parents’ Night Out. For more information, call 706- 791-0718.

Dare-To-Tri

Come enjoy a race with low traffic on Fort Gordon that helps to support our military! The Da re-To-Tri Triathlon on March 23 consists of a 300-meter pool swim, 16K bike ride, and 5K run that takes place completely on Fort Gordon. Special Olympics

Fort Gordon will host the Georgia Area #9 Special Olympics games March 28, 10 a.m., on Barton Field. In the event of inclement weather, the games will take place April 2. Volunteers are needed and spectators are welcome! Contact Sports and Fitness Director Neil Smith at 706-791- 6099 for more information.

Scholarship

The American Legion expanded its scholarship program to include children of VA-rated, post-9/11 Veterans with a combined disability rating of 50 percent or higher. The American Legion and Legion Riders offer support through the Legacy Scholarship Fund. To learn more, call the Post 71 commander, Ron Price, at 803-215-7110.

Circuit Training 101 Class

This Circuit Training 101 Class is a class for individuals to experience a high-intensity workout at a beginner’s level. Exercises are simple to understand and perform with proper form while still reaching the target heart rate as an alternate approach to cardio, which provides a low risk of injury. This class offers a basic approach to exercising, yet it is designed to build strength while improving endurance, without intimidating newcomers/ beginners to fitness training. Battalion Volleyball

Battalion Volleyball is part of the Army Sports Program, whereas battalions formulate their teams to compete against other battalions on the installation for the right to play in a regional championship and then on to an Army championship. The season consists of round robin play and then a double elimination tournament to determine a post champion. This league is for active duty military only. Men’s and women’s programs offered. Teams must have a signed Memorandum of Intent to Play by their battalion commander. Call 706- 791-1142 for more details.
