Joseph Cottrell, both of Bravo Company, 551st Signal Battalion. Leavitt and Cottrell received the award on behalf of the unit, which was the 1st Quarter Fiscal Year 2019 Unit Recycle Challenge winner. It was the unit’s fourth time being awarded for the challenge. Jay Waldman, an American Red Cross (ARC) volunteer for Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center, receives the Department of the Army Outstanding Civilian Service Award medal for public service from Col. Jim Clifford, Fort Gordon garrison commander. Waldman has been an ARC volunteer at the center since February 2017, and as of Jan. 30, has volunteered 1,010 hours there.
