Legal Closure

The Legal Assistance Office will close today at 2:30 p.m. instead of its regularly scheduled closure time of 3:30 p.m.

Health and Wellness Fair

Do you want to focus on your health and wellness? Would you like to learn more about nutrition, healthier habits and visit vendors with passion for living an active lifestyle? Then, the 2019 Health and Wellness Fair was made for you! The fair will be held tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Nelson Fitness Center. This event brings awareness to our Fort Gordon Servicemembers, families and the surrounding area about how to live a healthier lifestyle. There will be informative booths, interactive demonstrations, cooking demonstrations as well as fitness challenges where you can win prizes.


GDOT Project

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) and Augusta-Richmond County are conducting stakeholder outreach for locally administered project PI #0013703 in Augusta-Richmond County. The project proposes to improve traffic flow and increase public safety for vehicles and pedestrians along Willis Foreman Road from Deans Bridge Road (SR4/US1) to Peach Orchard Road (SR121/US25). The proposed corridor improvements will address the anticipated residential and commercial growth within the area, especially related to Fort Gordon and other industry. A public meeting will be held Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. at Willis Foreman Elementary School, located at 2413 Willis Forman Road, Hephzibah 30815. This meeting will allow the public, key stakeholders, the opportunity to provide feedback and suggestions for proposed improvements along the corridor. Attendees will be able to ask questions of the design consultants and The City of Augusta Department of Engineering staff who will be in attendance.

Facebook Town Hall

Join in the Fort Gordon Facebook Town Hall on Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. Get information about our community and have your questions answered by Garrison Commander Col. Jim Clifford and post directors. Spread the word and “Like” our page: https://www.facebook.com/ftgordonga/. The next Facebook Town Hall will be March 14, from noon to 1 p.m. Save the date!

Automotive Classes

Automotive Classes are available to all military, retirees, spouses, and family members ages 16 and older. Classes are on an introductory level and are intended to familiarize participants with solutions to various common car problems. All classes are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the next one on Jan. 19. Registration is required and closes the day before each class or when the class becomes full. Call Glenn at (706)791-2390 to register.

Butterfly Ball

Get your dancing shoes ready! The 2019 Father Daughter Butterfly Ball is coming up in March! This is a great opportunity to have fun and make daddy/ daughter memories. Shoppette Closure

The Gate 1 Shoppette will be closed through Feb. 8 due to construction. The gas pumps will remain open during that time. The store portion may reopen sooner with limited service if the primary construction work is completed before Feb. 8.

Bingo Palace

Get ready for Bingo Palace’s Bonus Face Computer Giveaway! Now through Feb. 1 (Sundays and Mondays not included), all winners of the floor games, free games, and regular programs will receive an entry into the drawing. The drawing will be held on Feb. 1 at 9 p.m. You must be present to win. Four winners will receive a 100 face computer that can be used every day during the month of February (non-transferable). Brown Bag Bible Study

The Center Chaplain’s Office sponsor s a Brown Bag Bible Study every Tuesday, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in Darling Hall, Room 188D. Knitting Circle

Knit one, purl two! Knitting Circle is here to stay. The group includes every skill level, from brand new knitters to experienced, artisan crafters. Learn from others, exchange ideas, and make new friends. From 20-something Soldiers and spouses, to retirees and grandmothers, the Knitting Circle provides a comforting place to knit your bit. The Knitting Circle meets every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Woodworth Consolidated Library. Register by phone at (706)791-7323, or in person.

Shooting Class

The Pistol & Rifle Shooting Class is for firearm enthusiasts 12 years of age and up, as well as those interested in firearms. The class is open to all individuals and includes instruction, range fees, ammunition and lunch for $40 per participant. Registration is required. Call (706)791- 5078 for more information.

Circuit Training

This Circuit Training 101 Class is a class for individuals to experience a high intensity workout at a beginner’s level. Exercises are simple to understand and perform with proper form while still reaching the target heart rate as an alternate approach to cardio, which provides a low risk of injury. This class offers a basic approach to exercising, yet it is designed to build strength while improving endurance, without intimidating newcomers/ beginners to fitness training. Gordon Club

Join us Wednesdays at Gordon’s Conferenceand Catering from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for lunch with a weekly, rotating theme. Lunch is $10 per person and includes one entree, two sides, bread/roll, salad and a drink. Call (706)791-2205 for more information.

Financial Readiness

Hilltop Riding Stables

Plan your holiday gathering at Hilltop Riding Stables. Rent a family friendly space with an assortment of amenities available to make your event memorable. It is available for a fun-filled birthday party for children. Reservation times are 10 a.m. to noon, and 2 to 4 p.m. Party/ group accommodations must be reserved in advance. Gordon Car Care

In addition to the services provided by ASE technicians, Gordon Car Care also offers an Auto Skills area with instructors on hand to guide you as you work on your own vehicle.
