Butterfly Ball

Get your dancing shoes ready! The 2019 Father Daughter Butterfly Ball is coming up in March! This is a great opportunity to have fun and make daddy/daughter memories. Shoppette Closure

The Gate 1 Shoppette will be closed Jan. 7 to Feb. 8 due to construction. The gas pumps will remain open during that time. The store portion may reopen sooner with limited service if the primary construction work is completed before Feb. 8.

Book Club

Expand your reading shelf with the all new Woodworth Library Book Club! A new title will be discussed every month on the second Tuesday at the Woodworth Library Café. The next meeting will be Jan. 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Coffee and water will be provided, and members are encouraged to bring a light snack for themselves or to share. Knitting Circle

Knit one, purl two! Knitting Circle is here to stay. The group includes every skill level, from brand new knitters to experienced, artisan crafters. Learn from others, exchange ideas, and make new friends. From 20-something Soldiers and spouses, to retirees and grandmothers, the Knitting Circle provides a comforting place to knit your bit. The Knitting Circle meets every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Woodworth Consolidated Library. Register by phone at (706)791-7323, or in person.

Health and Wellness Fair

Do you have a business or organization that focuses on health and wellness? Would you like to participate as a demonstrator or sponsor? Save the date for our 2019 Health and Wellness Fair on Jan. 12. This event brings awareness to Fort Gordon Servicemembers, families and the surrounding area about how to live a healthier lifestyle. Brown Bag Bible Study

The Center Chaplain’s Office sponsors a Brown Bag Bible Study every Tuesday, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in Darling Hall, Room 188D. Gordon Club

Join us Wednesdays at Gordon’s Conference and Catering from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for lunch with a weekly, rotating theme. Lunch is $10 per person and includes one entree, two sides, bread/roll, salad and a drink. Call (706)791-2205 for more information.

Mammoth Sniper Challenge

Join some of the best at this qualifying event for units to earn the right to send a two-man team, at no cost, to the Mammoth Sniper Challenge, the toughest civilian sniper competition in the country. Fort Gordon MWR and Grunt Style will be selecting the best four teams to compete. All Fort Gordon active duty mission partners are invited to send their best Service members. Financial Readiness

ACS Financial Readiness Program is your resource for information on money matters. They cover topics from military pay, credit reporting, investing and saving. They can assist you with Army Emergency Relief and Education Financing. For details, call (706)791-3579.

Hilltop Riding Stables

Plan your holiday gathering at Hilltop Riding Stables. Rent a family-friendly space with an assortment of amenities available to make your event memorable. It is available for a fun-filled birthday party for children. Reservation times are 10 a.m. to noon, and 2 to 4 p.m. Party/group accommodations must be reserved in advance. Gordon Car Care

In addition to the services provided by ASE technicians, Gordon Car Care also offers an Auto Skills area with instructors on hand to guide you as you work on your own vehicle. Patrons must attend a Shop Certification Class before using the Auto Skills area. Classes are offered during business hours, Wednesday through Sunday. For more information, call (706)791-2390.

Troops to Teachers

The Education Services Division hosts a briefing the second Thursday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon at the Command Support Center, Bldg. 35200, located at 271 Heritage Park Lane. Benefits, financial assistance and incentives, counseling/referral services will be covered. Program is open to current and former Servicemembers with “Honorable” period of service. Gordon Lakes Special

Attend the Masters without going broke! Gordon Lakes Golf Course (GLGC) has special pricing on rates for the week of the 2019 Masters! Lunch Buffet

Parents Night Out

Let us watch the kids while you have a night out on the town! Child & Youth Services will be offering Parents Night Out on select dates each month from 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. Children 6 weeks to 17 years must be registered with Child Youth Services to participate. $28 per child covers five hours of kid-free time to do whatever you like! Consumer Health Website

The EAMC Health Sciences Library now offers access to the Health & Wellness Resource Center website. HWRC provides 24/7, user-friendly access to a vast array of trustworthy and up-to-date health news and information. Special features include a Spanish-language search filter, text-to-speech technology, and the ability to translate into 40 languages and the user interface into 34 languages. All members of the Fort Gordon community and their immediate family members may register by calling (706)787- 4446/4447, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.

Parenting Academy

Parenting can be very rewarding but doesn’t necessarily come with an instruction manual! The Parenting Academy is a series of 10 workshops covering different aspects of raising children from kids and technology to alternative parenting.
