Globe deadline

The deadline to submit content for the final 2018 issue of the Globe newspaper is Dec. 18 at noon. The the year will be final issue of published on Dec. 21. The first issue of 2019 will be published Jan. 11. The deadline to submit content for that issue is Jan. 8 at noon.


Mornin’ Gordon will be hosting 12 Days of Giveaways now through Dec. 18 for the holiday season! We will be giving away awesome prizes from MWR facilities and our local community partners; so keep an eye out for the winners announced daily on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter – @ FortGordonMWR. This contest is open to all DOD ID card holders to include active duty, retirees, veterans, contractors, DOD civilians and family members, 18 years of age and older. Breastfeeding Support

Come meet other mothers and learn new techniques, tips and tricks as well as have some fun with your baby on Dec. 18 from 1-3 p.m. for the Breastfeeding Support Group. For more details, call (706) 791-5220.

Create with Me

ACS is hosting a “Create with Me” series of workshops with the Morris Museum of Art in Downtown Augusta. These workshops are to help kids become interested in the amazing world of art and creating. Butterfly Ball

Get your dancing shoes ready! The 2019 Father Daughter Butterfly Ball is coming up! This is a great opportunity to have fun and make daddy/daughter memories. Shoppette Closure

The Gate 1 Shoppette will be closed Jan. 7 to Feb. 8 due to construction. The gas pumps will remain open during that time. The store portion may reopen sooner with limited service if the primary construction work is completed before Feb. 8.

Dinner Theatre

Don’t miss Fort Gordon Dinner Theatre’s production of “Sorry, Wrong Chimney.” David Tuttle is moonlighting as a department store Santa so that he can buy his wife a fur for Christmas. He tells her he’s working late at the office, but she finds out he isn’t at the office. A suspected other woman, hypnotism, the notorious Santa burglar, Kris Kreigle and his gun-toting fiancée, and a confused policeman add up to a rollicking tale that is hilarious Christmas entertainment any time of year. Book Club

Expand your reading shelf with the all new Woodworth Library Book Club! A new title will be discussed every month on the second Tuesday at the Woodworth Library Café. The next meeting will be Jan. 8 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Coffee and water will be provided, and members are encouraged to bring a light snack for themselves or to share. Health and Wellness Fair

Do you have a business or organization that focuses on health and wellness? Would you like to participate as a demonstrator or sponsor? Save the date for our 2019 Health and Wellness Fair on Jan. 12. This event brings awareness to Fort Gordon Servicemembers, families and the surrounding area about how to live a healthier lifestyle. Brown Bag Bible Study

The Center Chaplain’s Office sponsors a Brown Bag Bible Study every Tuesday, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in Darling Hall, Room 188D. Gordon Club

Mammoth Sniper Challenge

Join some of the best at this qualifying event for units to earn the right to send a2-man team, at no cost, to the Mammoth Sniper Challenge, the toughest civilian sniper competition in the country. Fort Gordon MWR and Grunt Style will be selecting the best four teams to compete. All Fort Gordon active duty mission partners are invited to send their best Service members. Hilltop Riding Stables

Plan your holiday gathering at Hilltop Riding Stables. Rent a family-friendly space with an assortment of amenities available to make your event memorable. It is available for a fun-filled birthday party for children. Reservation times are 10 a.m. to noon, and 2 to 4 p.m. Party/group accommodations must be reserved in advance. Gordon Car Care

In addition to the services provided by ASE technicians, Gordon Car Care also offers an Auto Skills area with instructors on hand to guide you as you work on your own vehicle. Patrons must attend a Shop Certification Class before using the Auto Skills area. Classes are offered during business hours, Wednesday through Sunday. For more information, call (706)791- 2390.
