Hiring Fair

Fort Gordon Soldier for Life- Transition Assistance Program and Georgia Department of Labor are hosting their annual Fort Gordon Hiring Fair on Oct. 2, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m, at the U.S. Army Reserve Center. More than 60 companies are registered for the event. The event is free and open to all job seekers. Transitioning Servicemembers and military spouses are highly encouraged to attend. AFAP Conference

Dinner Theatre

Have a night out with dinner and a show. The Fort Gordon Dinner Theatre is presenting “Man of La Mancha,” a musical inspired by the 17th century novel “Don Quixote,” on Oct. 5-6, Oct. 12-14 and Oct. 18-20. Create with Me

ACS is hosting a “Create with Me” series of workshops with the Morris Museum of Art in Downtown Augusta. These workshops are to help kids become interested in the amazing world of art and creating. All children are welcome to join them at the Family Outreach Center to learn. The next class will be Oct. 16 from 10 to 11 a.m. in the Family Outreach Center. Innovation Day

Mark your calendar! Fort Gordon Innovation Day will be held Oct. 17, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Gordon Catering and Conference Center. The event, hosted by the U.S. Army Signal School, is free and open to all Fort Gordon personnel. Retiree Appreciation Day

The Fort Gordon Retiree Appreciation Day is scheduled for 8 a.m. Nov. 3 at Darling Hall. Briefings and medical screenings will be available from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. A lunch choice of soup and salad or the taco bar will be served at noon in the Gordon Conference and Catering Center for $10. Troops to Teachers

The Education Services Division hosts a briefing the second Thursday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon at the Command Support Center, Bldg. 35200, located at 271 Heritage Park Lane. Benefits, financial assistance and incentives, counseling/referral services will be covered. Program is open to current and former Servicemembers with “Honorable” period of service. New Parent Support

New Parent Support has a plethora of programs and events for families with children 4 and under. From playgroups to art session and massage instruction, they help to build the bond between parents and their new family member. Infant Massage

Bond with your baby and learn to soothe them during rough nights with a quick massage. New Parent Support is hosting infant massage instructional classes at the Family Outreach Center. For dates and to register, call (706)791-5220. Breastfeeding Support Group meets every third Tuesday of the month at 1 p.m. in the Family Outreach Center. Employment Readiness

The Army Community Service Employment Readiness Program offers free classes and workshops to help spouses land their dream job. Steps to Federal Employment is held the second and fourth Monday of each month. This workshop will walk you through every step to apply for federal employment. Resume Writing 101 is available for those seeking employment in the private sector. Registration is required. Workshops target military spouses, but are open to all military and DOD civilian ID cardholders. Exceptional Family Member Program

If you are a part of the ACS Exceptional Family Member Program and are unaware of the resources available to you and your family, make sure to check out the EFMP Information and Awareness Fair! Match Play

Get in on the fun and competition at the Gordon Lakes Match Play Championship. All participants must have a USGA handicap. Each player’s handicap will determine their position on match play pairings per Appendix 1, USGA rules. Gordon Lakes Members

Attention all Gordon Lakes Golf Course members, bring a friend in to become a member at GLGC and you will receive a $50 Gift Certificate for our Pro-Shop after your friend signs up and pays for an annual membership!
