Fort Gordon Retiree Council

The Fort Gordon Retiree Council’s mission is to identify issues and concerns of retirees and their dependents to the Fort Gordon Installation commander for resolution. Retirees can contact the Retiree Council by email, ftgordonretcouncil@gmail.com, or stop by the Retirement Services Office in Room 237 at Darling Hall on Fort Gordon to submit requests/ inquiries.

Employment Readiness

The Army Community Service Employment Readiness Program can help with job searching, career coaching, resume writing, interviewing tips and networking to help spouses land their dream job. Employment Readiness Program also offer free classes and workshops. The Resume Writing 101 and Steps to Federal Employment workshops are held Mondays. The Employment Readiness Program’s goal is to provide spouses with the tools and support needed to attain employment. Financial Aid Workshop

Sign up with the Fort Gordon Education Center to attend a Financial Aid Workshop for assistance to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and submit it the same day. The three-hour workshop is held from 9 a.m. to noon every third Wednesday of the month. Servicemembers and families will receive information on researching available scholarships and get effective scholarship essay writing techniques. Housing mayors

Community mayors in Fort Gordon Family Housing have a unique role in enhancing the quality of life for families residing in their neighborhoods. The mayors program operates entirely on a volunteer basis. The Residential Community Initiative Office, Fort Gordon is currently recruiting for a mayor for the Maglin Terrace housing area. Unit Recycling Challenge

Don’t miss out on making money and helping out the planet. The Unit Recycling Challenge is an opportunity to increase unit funds, $500 to be exact. All that is required is to collect the highest weight of the quarterly commodity. This quarter it’s white paper for the recycling challenge. U-Do-It Store

The U-DO-IT Store is located at the Brems Barracks area in Bldg. 40101. Customer service hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding federal holidays. The store stocks parts and materials necessary for units and activities to complete minor maintenance and repair of their assigned facilities. To receive items from the store, individuals must successfully complete the U-DO-IT training course conducted the first Wednesday of each month beginning at 8 a.m. and fill out DA Form 1687 (Notice of Delegation of Authority-Receipt for Supplies). The class is conducted on a walk-in basis with no prior registration required. U-DO-IT representatives can be reached at (706)791-3942/7683.

Food Handler Course

Environmental Health Preventative Medicine offers a Food Handler Course every Friday at 1 p.m., Bldg. 38701, corner of 38th Street and 7th Avenue. Cost is free to all Servicemembers and Family Readiness Groups. The FHC Certificate is good for one year and allows Soldiers and FRG’s to participate in unit events which involve handling/ selling food on Fort Gordon. Range safety briefs

In accordance with the USACyberCoE&FG Regulation 350-19, safety briefs will be conducted the second and fourth Thursday of each month from January to October and the first and second Thursday in November and December at 9 a.m. Unit S-3s are required to submit memorandums to the Range Control Office by 4 p.m. Tuesday prior to the Thursday’s class. Memorandums must be signed by a battalion commander or higher and can be submitted electronically or delivered to Range Control in hard-copy.

Briefings are designed for NCOs, sergeant and above, and officers who will fill the positions as officer-in-charge or range safety officer on livefire ranges and training areas. For more information, contact Randy Harris at (706)791-5005 or email randall.l.harris4.civ@ mail.mil.


Fort Gordon has switched to a new online system, iSportsman, that allows users to purchase permits for hunting, fishing, outdoor recreation and harvesting of forest products from a computer or mobile device. Users will use this program to check in and out of any recreation activities conducted in the Range Training Area Complex. To begin using the new program, visit https://ftgordon. isportsman.net to register and create an i-Sportsman profile.

Tag Office

The Richmond County Tax Commissioner’s Office, Motor Vehicle Registration Division, provides services such as general motor vehicle inquiries, vehicle registration, tag renewals and cancellations, handicap placards, title transfers and insurance issues to Servicemembers, civilians and anyone who resides in Richmond County. Photo studio hours

The photo studio, located in building 40709, has a walk-in photo studio for command and DA photos available on a first-come, first-served basis during the hours of 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 4 p.m. All other DA photos must be scheduled. Substance abuse

Fort Gordon ASAP is offering two one-hour presentations for Soldiers monthly at Alexander Hall through fiscal year 2018. This assists units in completing the yearly mandate of four hours of substance abuse training. Sign in rosters will be available at each training and Soldiers will have to sign in to get credit for attendance.
