Range Safety Briefs

Range Safety Briefs resume regular schedule for 2017. In accordance with the USACyberCoE&FG Regulation 350-19, safety briefs will be conducted each first and second Thursday of the calendar month at 9 a.m. Unit S-3s are required to submit memorandums to the Range Control Office by 4 p.m. “Tuesday prior to the Thursday’s class.” Memorandums must be signed by a battalion commander or higher and can be submitted electronically or delivered to Range Control in hard-copy. Briefings are designed for NCOs, sergeant and above, and officers, who will fill the positions as officer-in-charge or range safety officer on live-fire ranges and training areas. Unit Recycling Challenge

Don’t miss out on making money and helping out the planet. The Unit Recycling Challenge is an opportunity to increase unit funds, $500 to be exact, starting in October. All that is required is to collect the highest weight of the quarterly commodity. This quarter its plastic bottles and aluminum cans. This should be easy with all the bottles and soda cans purchased. 2017 CFC campaign

Parenting Academy

Fort Gordon Army Community Service, Family Advocacy Program presents, The Parenting Academy, a series of 10 workshops covering different aspects of raising children. The sessions are led by Ashley Quamme, a licensed marriage and family therapist. Space is limited. Registration required. Debt Notice

Sgt. Maj. Luis A. Billingslea: All services under Sgt. Maj. Luis A. Billingslea should be put on hold. Billingslea died on Sept. 15, 2017. All those with debt to be collected should contact Capt. Holly Rupprecht at (719) 217-4371.

Youth Sports

The Youth Sports Fall and Winter Seasons are open for registration. To register a child for a sport, contact Parent Central Services at (706)791-4455/4722.


Tag Office

The Richmond County Tax Commissioner’s Office, Motor Vehicle Registration Division, will provide services such as general motor vehicle inquiries, vehicle registration, tag renewals and cancellations, handicap placards, title transfers and insurance issues to service members, civilians and anyone who resides in Richmond County. iSportsman

Fort Gordon has switched to a new online system, iSportsman, that allows users to purchase permits for hunting, fishing, outdoor recreation and harvesting of forest products from a computer or mobile device. Users will use this program to check in and out of any recreation activities conducted in the Range Training Area Complex. To begin using the new program, visit https://ftgordon.isportsman.net to register and create an iSportsman profile.


FLEP application

The 2017 Army Funded Legal Education Program application window is open until Nov. 1. Commissioned officers between the ranks of second lieutenant and captain, with two to six years active federal service are encouraged to apply and be considered for acceptance. CYS sports coaches

Photo studio hours

The photo studio, located in building 40709, has a walk-in photo studio for command and DA photos available on a first-come, first-served basis during the hours of 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 4 p.m. All other DA photos must be scheduled. Substance Abuse

Fort Gordon ASAP is offering two one-hour presentations for Soldiers monthly at Alexander Hall through fiscal year 2018. This assists units in completing the yearly mandate of four hours of substance abuse training. Sign-in rosters will be available at each training and Soldiers will have to sign in to get credit for attendance. Lunch workout

Get a quick sweat on during lunch at Cyber Fitness Center. The 30-minute full body bootcamp workout is held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 12:30 p.m. For more details, call (706)791-7370.

Catholic women

The Center Chaplain’s Office sponsors the Catholic Women of the Chapel at Good Shepherd Chapel on Barnes Avenue on the first Friday of the month starting with the Rosary at 5:45 p.m., then Mass and dinner followed by.
