2017 CFC campaign

Softball League

The Directorate Level Softball League starts Thursday. You must have a signed Memorandum of intent. Join the team for the coaches meeting 1 p.m. Thursday at the MWR Sports Division office. For more Information, call (706)831-6536 or email neil.j.smith.naf@mail.mil.

Youth Sports

The Youth Sports Fall and Winter Seasons are open for registration. To register a child for a sport, contact Parent Central Services at (706)791-4455/4722.

Tag Office

For a 30-day trial period at Darling Hall, the Richmond County Tax Commissioner’s Office, Motor Vehicle Registration Division, will provide services such as general motor vehicle inquiries, vehicle registration, tag renewals and cancellations, handicap placards, title transfers and insurance issues to service members, civilians, anyone who only reside in Richmond County. Operation hours are 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday. For more information, visit arctax.com or call (706)821-2391.

iSportsman

Fort Gordon is switching to a new online system, iSportsman, that allows users to purchase permits for hunting, fishing, outdoor recreation and harvesting of forest products from a desktop computer or mobile device. Users will also use this program to check in and out of any recreation activities conducted in the Range Training Area Complex. To begin using the new program, visit https://ftgordon.isportsman.net to register and create an iSportsman profile.


FLEP application

The 2017 Army Funded Legal Education Program application window is open until Nov. 1. Commissioned officers between the ranks of second lieutenant and captain, with two to six years active federal service are encouraged to apply and be considered for acceptance. Outdoor Pool

The Outdoor Pool and Spray Park are open. Season passes are available for purchase at the pool during normal business hours. Lap swim hours are 6 to 8 a.m., Monday through Friday. No unit PT reservations. Starting Monday, Recreation Swim includes Thursdays and Fridays from 4 to 7 p.m. for at the Outdoor Pool, in addition to weekend hours, Saturday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday noon to 6 p.m. This will continue until the last day of the season, which is Sept. 4. CYS sports coaches

Photo studio hours

The photo studio, located in building 40709, has a walk-in photo studio for command and DA photos available on first come, first served basis during the hours of 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 4 p.m. All other DA photos must be scheduled. Substance Abuse

Fort Gordon ASAP is offering two one-hour presentations for Soldiers monthly at Alexander Hall through fiscal year 2018. This assists units in completing the yearly mandate of four hours for substance abuse training. Sign-in rosters will be available at each training and Soldiers will have to sign in to get credit for attendance. Monthly dates have been identified through taskers sent out to the installation and are also be on the master calendar. For more information, contact Michael Reed at (706)791-5797 or 791-8500.

Lunch workout

Get a quick sweat on during lunch at Cyber Fitness Center. The 30-minute full body bootcamp workout is held Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from noon to 12:30 p.m. For more details, call (706)791-7370.

Catholic women

The Center Chaplain’s Office sponsors the Catholic Women of the Chapel at Good Shepherd Chapel on Barnes Avenue on the first Friday of the month starting with the Rosary at 5:45 p.m., then Mass and dinner afterward. Protestant women

The Center Chaplain’s Office sponsors the Protestant Women of the Chapel. The PWOC’s fall groups will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at the Center Chaplain’s Office, Bldg. 29601 on Barnes Avenue, and 9:30 a.m. Thursdays at the Religious Education Center, Bldg. 13. Child care is provided at the Thursday morning group for those who are centrally and locally registered with Child and Youth Services. For more information, email ftgordonpwoc@gmail.com.

Recycle challenge

Single service members

BOSS HQ is open for single service members to come and relax. There are several televisions to watch your favorite shows or put on the latest news, game, or movie in the theater room. Quest through the lands of Hyrule on the way to save Princess Zelda or simply find a nice corner to take a nap. There is so much available at the BOSS HQ in the Courtyard building next to the Outdoor Pool. For more information, call (706)791-5902.

Horse Boarding

Hilltop Riding Stables offer boarding for military and nonmilitary individuals. The facility has 24-hour access to family members and open access to riding trails and surrounding areas. Visit www.fortgordon.com.
