Vacation Bible School

The Religious Education Center is hosting Fort Gordon Vacation Bible School 8:30 a.m. to noon Monday through July 21. Children four years old through youth entering sixth grade may attend. Anachronism Society

The Shire of Border Vale Keep with the Society for Creative Anachronism is hosting introduction classes 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. the first Sunday of each month at the Augusta-Richmond County Fire Station located at 2627 Parkway Drive, Augusta, Georgia, 30904, just across from Daniel Air Field. Christmas in July

Morale Call

Join in for the morale at Heroes Sports Bar located at the Gordon Lanes Bowling Center 4:30 to 7 p.m. July 21. Southbound Smokehouse will be there with Barbeque bites and other appetizers. Early birds can receive a free round of bowling 4 to 5 p.m. For more information, call (706) 791- 3446.

School Screenings

School screenings for children entering Georgia public schools for the first time are available 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 22, 29, and Aug. 12 at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center. This is not sports physicals, which can be separately scheduled with primary care managers.

To schedule a 4-point screening during one of the allotted time slots, call (706)787-7300 7 a.m. through 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Patients must be eligible for care at DDEAMC and enrolled in DEERS one week prior to screening. Bring an ID card or current proof of DEERS registration, eye glasses, hearing aids, immunization record, medical power of attorney and medical records (if not at DDEAMC) to the appointment. Dinner Theatre

The Dinner Theatre production of “Don’t Dress for Dinner” is scheduled to run July 28, 29, Aug. 4,5,10,11,12 with a show time 7 to 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $53 for civilians; $50 for and seniors older than 65, military retirees, Department of the Army civilians, service members above E-7; $40 for service members E-6 and below, students with school ID. Parents Night Out

Take an evening off for Parents’ Night Out. Child and Youth Services is offering to watch the kids during a parents’ night out for select dates each month 6:30 to 11:30 p.m. Six-week to 12-year-old children who are registered with CYS can participate. Changes of command

The 369th Signal Battalion will hold a change-of-command ceremony 8 a.m. today at Barton Field. Outgoing commander Lt. Col. Christian Haffey will transfer command to incoming Lt. Col. Kenneth A. Scerbo.

The 35th Theater Tactical Signal Brigade will hold a change-of-command ceremony 10 a.m. today at the Signal Towers flagpole. Outgoing commander Col. Charles P. Daly will transfer command to incoming Col. Chris O’Conner.

The 706th Military Intelligence Group will hold a change- of- command ceremony 9 a.m. Wednesday at Barton Field. Outgoing commander Col. Thomas E. Toler will transfer command to incoming Col. John S. Chu. In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held at 8 a.m. in Alexander Hall located on Chamberlain Avenue.

5K Run Series

The Glow 5K is scheduled Aug. 19 to start at 8:30 p.m. at the Fort Gordon track field. For more information, visit www.fortgordon.com.

Kids Bowl Free

Kids Bowl Free is weekly from Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Aug. 3. Each child, ages 3-15, can play two free games per day, shoe rental is not included. Garden Club

Join the Garden Club and show off your green thumb or learn some new tips and tricks to use in your own little plot of heaven. Club meetings are every third Thursday of the month at the Woodworth Consolidated Library from 5-6 p.m. Topics cover everything from planning your garden to keeping the pests off your produce and how to preserve your harvest. Horse stable volunteers

Sign up for the Hilltop Riding Stables volunteer class. This will teach you all you need to begin volunteering at the stables and the skills to care for horses. The class will be held Saturdays and Sundays and is open to ages 14 and up. For more information or to sign up, call (706)791-4864.

U-DO-IT store

The U-DO-IT Store is located at the Brems Barracks area in building 40101. Customer service hours are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding federal holidays. The store stocks parts and materials necessary for units and activities to complete minor maintenance and repair of their assigned facilities. To receive items from the store, individuals must have successfully completed the U-DO-IT training course that is conducted the first Wednesday of each month beginning at 8 a.m. and listed on DA Form 1687 ( Notice of Delegation of Authority-Receipt for Supplies). The class is conducted on a walk-in basis with no prior registration required. U-DO-IT representatives can be reached at (706)791-3942/7683.

Auto classes

Free automotive care classes are available to all military, retirees, spouses, family members and DoD civilians. Dependents must be age 16 and older. Classes are on an introductory level and are intended to familiarize individuals with various car problems such as brake and tire inspection, AC system and other common problems. Gordon Adventure Camp

Outdoor Recreation will be hosting the Gordon Adventure Camp for children ages 9-14. The summer day camp is a fun way for kids to experience and learn about the outdoors. Pose Running Clinic

Pose Running Clinic is back, July 22. Spaces will fill up fast for this running clinic which is four hours of technique, tips and pacing. Learn to improve your running time the right way.
