LAW ENFORCEMENT TORCH RUN

WALTHOUR / FORT GORDON CHAPLAIN OFFICE Military and civilian Law Enforcement run alongside each other May 8 on Washington Road in Evans, Georgia, during the 2017 Georgia Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympic. Soldiers represented Fort Gordon demonstrating the partnership with local law enforcement and Special Olympics within the Central Savannah River Area community. Soldiers from the U.S. Army Fort Gordon Garrison Chaplain Office, 222nd Military Working Dog and 35th Military Police detachments participated in the run that was hosted by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office. Participants ran shoulder to shoulder on the 3.2-mile route that began at Flowing Wells Road and finished at the entrance of the Justice of the Peace, in Columbia County, Georgia.
