Masters Lottery

Registration forms for the Masters Lottery available from Pat Camacho, Bldg. 28320 on Lane Ave. Registration goes through today. Drawing will take place 8 a.m. Monday. It is the responsibility of the applicant to call and check the results of the drawing. Badges are limited to one day use and all winners must pay $82 to receive their badge. Education Plan

The IEP Clinic on Saturday, is an opportunity for exceptional families to receive intensive one on one support for understand an Individualized Education Plan. This is free training and each family receives a one hour session. This clinic creates an entirely customized IEP for the parent’s needs. Open Mic Night

Dare to Tri Triathlon

Free dentures

Fort Gordon Prosthodontic Residency Program is looking for denture patients (no teeth remaining in the upper or lower jaws). Participants must have a valid military ID card (family member or retired). Bring a list of all medications taken. The staff prosthodontists will consider if individuals are qualified for the purposes of residency training. If selected, patients will receive a new set of dentures at no cost, with a limited amount of follow-up care. Call (706) 787-5102 to set up a screening appointment Monday to Thursday from 8 to 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 to 4 p.m.

VA town hall

The leadership of Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center has a quarterly Veterans Town Hall scheduled for March 29 from 4-5 p.m., in Aiken, S.C. The meeting will take place in the Sandlapper Conference Room at the Aiken County Government Center, 1930 University Parkway, Aiken S.C., 29801. All area Veterans are invited. Medical Center leadership will provide an update on issues affecting veterans and their care. Veterans can check in with subject-matter experts in enrollment, eligibility, benefits, use of MyHealtheVet, the Vets Center, and more. The event will last about 60 minutes. AFAP Rally

Calling all AFAP facilitators, recorders, transcribers, and issue support personnel. Plan now to attend Fort Gordon’s Army Family Action Plan Rally scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. March 29 at the Family Outreach Center, located behind Woodworth Consolidated Library. Rally to show new and continued support for this program that effects the wellbeing and quality of life for all members of today’s Army: active, Reserve, retired, National Guard, survivors, civilian employees, and family members. Painting class

Over-30 Basketball League

If you have some basketball skills, are 30 or over and want to get social and active, this basketball league is just the thing for you. Golfing

FRG Battlegear

Sign up for the Army Family Readiness Symposium scheduled April 11 at Gordon’s Conference and Catering Center. Discussion topics to cover fundraising, roles of the FRG and military families. The Living Last Supper

Earth Day

Ladies Golf

Auto Classes

Free automotive classes are available to all military, retirees, spouses, family members and DoD civilians. Dependents must be age 16 and older. Classes are on an introductory level and are intended to familiarize individuals with various car problems such as brake and tire inspection, AC system and other common problems. Employer Panel

Employment Readiness is looking for some military spouse (volunteers) who would like to participate on an employer panel with keynote speakers, June 21 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. One of the requirement is that they would prefer a spouse who has been employed within the last year. If interested in the opportunity to provide effective feedback on employment trends and opportunities, this is a great chance. Those interested should contact Crystal Cochran at (706)791-0795, by the end of April so that we can provide additional information. I will need a firm commitment as the panel includes many key leaders.


Resume Prep

Recycling

Fort Gordon Recycling’s Second Quarter Challenge runs through Mar. 31. The Unit with the heaviest weight of cardboard will win $500 towards their unit funds. If you need recycling bins for your office or other necessities to make your recycling easier, contact Fort Gordon Recycling at 706-791-7881.

Horse Stable volunteers

Sign up for the Hilltop Riding Stables volunteer class. This will teach you all you need to begin volunteering at the stables and the skills to care for horses. The class will be held Saturdays and Sundays and is open to ages 14 and up. For more information or to sign up, call (706) 791-4864.


Free golf lessons

The “Hook a Soldier” golf program is a great opportunity for Soldiers and their families to pick up a relaxing and healthy habit. Every Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., Gordon Lakes Golf Club will host free one-hour golf lessons. No reservations are required. Golf lessons are open to active duty and family members. Water aerobics

Free water aerobics classes are offered each third Saturday of the month at 9 a.m. for 45 minutes at the Indoor Pool. Authorized ID card users are allowed to bring two guests. Registration is not needed. For more information, call (706) 791-3034.
