Walk-in service ends at TRICARE service centers
TRICARE Service Centers were opened when TRICARE was first implemented nearly 20 years ago and since then, most TRICARE issues can be managed via mail, telephone or online. So as of April 1, 2014, TRICARE Service Centers in all U.S. states will close their service center locations and transition to online and over-the-phone assistance.
Overseas TSC walk-in service will remain in place due to the unique nature of the overseas environment.
Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center patients still have a wide variety of secure, electronic customer service options available through www.tricare. mil. The new “I want to” feature puts everything beneficiaries want to do online right on the front page of www.tricare.mil.
The website is a gateway to enroll in or purchase a plan, file or check a claim, view referrals and prior authorizations, find a doctor, change your primary care manager, see what’s covered, compare plans and manage prescriptions.
The majority of customer service visits to TSCs concern in- or out-processing, billing, enrollment, changing a primary care manager, general information on benefits and plans, or referrals and all of these issues can be resolved through existing web sites, mobile applications and toll free call centers as well as through the U.S mail.
When walk-in service ends April 1 beneficiaries who want personal assistance can call Humana Military, a division of Humana Government Business, toll free at 1-800-444-5445 for enrollment and benefit help.
All health care, pharmacy, dental and claims contact information is located at www.tricare.mil/contactus. Beneficiaries can get 24/7 TRICARE benefit information at www.tricare.mil, and make enrollment and primary care manager changes, and more online at www.tricare.mil/enrollment.
