Financial aid workshop
The Army’s Tuition Assistance program has changed. These changes made Jan. 1 are supportive toward the intent of the TA program – to provide financial assistance for voluntary off-duty education in support of Soldiers’ professional and personal self-development goals within a constrained budget environment.
Soldiers using TA will be somewhat affected financially by these policy changes. To assist, the Fort Gordon Education Services Division in corporation with College Goal Georgia will sponsor a Financial Aid workshop.
Across the state, College Goal Georgia connects students with assistance for school. “College Goal Georgia brings our valued and respected Soldiers and veterans together with tools they need to apply for muchneeded money for college, for free,” said Stephanie Poloney, College Goal Georgia, site coordinator.
Soldiers and veterans, with valid CAC cards, will be given a clear path to federal assistance for education. College Goal Georgia brings financial experts together with students and their families to fill out the necessary forms and get access to billions in federal funds available for college. Last year, financial aid professionals helped more than 700 Georgia students apply for financial aid at College Goal Georgia events statewide.
The workshop will be centered on identifying alternatives forms of financial assistance including completing the FASFA, finding scholarships, grants, and other funding sources.
For additional information or to start the enrollment process please call or email Ms. Pamela Perez at 706-791-2000, Pamel. email@example.com or visit the Fort Gordon Education Center.
